How does a THUAS study year look?

Each academic year has 2 semesters

Each semester has 2 terms, followed by exam period

Each term lasts 6 weeks

Each exam period lasts 2 weeks: 1 for exams in that term, 1 for the re-sit of exams in previous term

School year normally starts in the end of August / beginning of September and ends in the beginning of �July the following year

After graduation?

  • All non-EU students may remain in the Netherlands for a year to look for a job and have the opportunity to stay on a long-term basis
  • For students wanting to start work upon graduation, employment rates are very high (80% within 4-months)
  • For students wanting to continue their studies to master's level,  THUAS students have been welcomed at universities across the world (including prestigious institutions such as Cambridge).

Living expenses: € 200– € 400 euro a month

Accommodation costs: € 400 – € 750 a month

Tuition fees for 2023-2024: € 2,314  (EU)

IB admissions

  • If you have a full IB diploma, you have access to both 4-year programmes and 3-year programmes. Your IB diploma must contain at least 6 IB courses, with a minimum of 3 courses at HL level (> 12 points) and 3 courses at SL level. The total amount of credits must be at least 24 and the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) is a compulsory part that must have been completed successfully.

Admission Matters

  • Basic entry requirement for bachelors is a high school diploma and possibly test of English
  • Students do not need to wait for their final high school diploma before applying (proof of studies will be required)

Accommodation

The Hague University of Applied Sciences can help students find somewhere to stay through a housing agency, which rents furnished rooms to international students. 

THUAS offers a housing service via the International Office for a fee of €275
