Overview of NJCPA and High School Scholarship Fund

  • Founded in 1898, NJCPA is the largest professional organization serving NJ CPAs & aspiring CPAs.

  • Committed to engaging in financial literacy, mentor programs and initiatives to increase diversity in the accounting profession.

  • NJCPA Scholarship Fund provides resources for students to pursue accounting education, including more than 2,000 high school and college students totaling more than $7 million in awards since 1960.

  • NJCPA High School Scholarship Fund awards one-year $1,500 scholarships to college-bound New Jersey high school seniors.

High School Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

  • U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident
  • NJ residents attending NJ public, parochial/private, or home school
  • High School senior planning to attend two or four year U.S. college/university*
  • Intend to major in accounting or concentration in accounting (minimum 24 accounting credits)

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher OR minimum total SAT score 1260 or composite ACT score of 26
  • Minimum 500-word essay on Why you chose accounting and what you think being a CPA will mean to your career?
  • Finalists participate in interview January 15, 2022
  • Application deadline: December 10, 2021**

* Additional requirements if attending two-year college
