Checklist of procedures for meeting with in-charge

Team leader meets with the facility in-charge to:

1. introduce the team

2. give the facility in-charge the letter of introduction

3. explain the purpose, activities and estimated duration of the visit

4. reassure facility staff that respondents will not be identified

5. respond to any questions and concerns

6. request consent to conduct the survey

10. ask facility in-charge to assign someone to take team

members to the data collection sites and introduce them to staff

7. ask the facility in-charge to sign the Informed Consent form

9. ask facility in-charge to identify key informants

8. identify any services where staff need to be interviewed at

specific times

  • Organize participants into groups composed of the expected team members for the actual field work and the facility in-charge*.
  • Assign each group a location to practice the meeting with the in-charge.
  • Ask them to follow the procedures with the checklist.
  • Group them back into plenary and allow 2-3 teams to role play.
  • Ask participants to assess each team´s performance according to the checklist.
  • Discuss team´s performance.
