THE SOCIALIST IDEAL

  1. Anti-Capitalism

​

The SP will stand against capitalism (defined as a system with private ownership of the means of production, a wage system, production for exchange and profit/increase in capital.

​

2. Worker ownership and control of the means of production

​

Those who work with the means of production should both own them and control them via a democratic method. The GLP will work to pass legislation that institutes and expands workers ownership and control of the means of production.

SOLIDARITY FOR ALL

  1. United but diverse left wing.

​

The GLP will be one in which will unite a diverse group of Marxists, Libertarian Socialists, Democratic Socialists, Anarchists, and other socialists, who all believe in worker ownership of the means of production as well as working against the adverse effects of a capitalist economic system.

  1. Anti-liberalism

​

The GLP will not be a movement of the upper class. We are first and foremost a movement of the working class. We recognize that there are systemic problems within our society, and that its base structure must be changed in order to pursue a more equitable future

THE OPPRESSED SHALL STAND

  1. Anti-Fascism
    1. The GLP will stand against right-wing nationalist, authoritarian third positionist, and related movements, and will oppose such ideologies through party policy.
  2. Standing against imperialism both at home and abroad.
    • The GLP will stand against interventionism for the sake of profit, as well as the expansion of capitalist ideals both at home and abroad.
  3. Liberation
    • While equality between peoples is good, full liberation is great. The GLP will seek to help all minorities fully overcome oppression and privilege.

PROTECTING THE WORLD

  1. Distribution of goods based on need

​

The GLP will pursue policies which seek to have goods and services distributed based on human needs and sustainability rather than private profits.

​

  • Direct democracy

​

The GLP will be one which supports the common person's voice within politics at the local, state, and federal levels.

​

3. Environmentalism

​

The GLP will support sustainable industrial, transportation, and manufacturing processes in order to build a cleaner, better world for the working class.
