In a document or through regular meetings, the cadence of project management should follow a similar process.

  2. Timeline: Identifying your milestones
  3. Resources: Budget and team roles

Identifying your project goals

Modern Program Management

1.

13

  1. Set your team goals and objectives
  2. Tools to support
  3. Incorporate partner and stakeholder feedback

14 of 30

14

Goals are the starting point for every project.

Questions to consider:

  • How would you describe the project?
  • What is the problem or opportunity statement?
  • What do you hope to achieve by the end of the project?

Try gathering your team around the last question. Have everyone write independently, then discuss for a few minutes. Plan to repeat this process with partners.

We then grouped and refined the brainstorm to build our questions and themes.

The outcome was the development of our Scoping Criteria, which supports us as we decide what projects in the city to focus on.
