  • Your grade is broken up into these categories:
    • 29% = Comprehension (Listening & Reading)
    • 27% = Production (Writing & Speaking)
    • 24% = Cultural & Linguistic Awareness (culture, grammar, and vocab. quizzes)
    • 10% = Ownership of Learning (daily assignments, class participation, class activities)
    • 10% = Final Exam

  • World Language Retake Policy
    • World Language teachers support the concept of retake and revision to improve student learning. However, we feel strongly that retakes and revisions are a privilege and not a right and will only be granted to students who are actively attempting to improve and grow. Students will be allowed one retake of both formative and summative assessments provided they have either completed all homework/learning activities during the unit (i.e. daily homework, online group activities, note taking, etc.) OR have completed a teacher assigned activity/meeting demonstrating that they have relearned the material prior to the retake.

Grading & Retake Policies

7 of 8

  • Academic Integrity in the World Languages
    • While doing any work, cheating will not be tolerated. Consequences for any of the actions listed below will result in a zero for the assignment/assessment until it is retaken, as well as parental and/or administrative contact.
      • Using an online translator, even if it’s to translate one word or to use advanced grammar structures
      • Copying, plagiarism, turning in someone else’s work as your own
      • Using notes or study aids during a test or quiz Using a phone, tablet, or other technological device without expressed consent of the teacher for any particular task (if you’re unsure, ask!)
  • Late Work
    • While I will be more than happy to give you feedback on late work, it will not be accepted for credit since we will go over the answers in class on the day it is due AND it is only 10% of your overall grade.
