Teacher Reflections on STEM Showcase

As you can see, our 2nd and 3rd class had some practice presenting STEM topics prior to the showcase. They had two opportunities to prepare and present, prior to their showcase, on Safer Internet Day and for their internal class Show & Tell. This gave them a great confidence boost, especially for when they were presenting to older classes.

The final STEM showcase provided an opportunity for the pupils to explore a range of science strands and other areas of STEM that appealed to them. The active learning and groupwork in the classroom was fantastic to see. The pupils put a range of skills to the test with researching, gathering resources, investigating, recording, communicating, presenting and facilitating visiting classes. This was a very worthwhile experience and one of the highlights of the school year. Visiting classes and staff members noted the wonderful efforts of the pupils and how well they allowed others to explore the investigations for themselves.
