Week 7 Progress

Humidity Accuracy

  • Validated the AmbiMate MS4 humidity sensor.

  • Performed a saturated NaCl salt calibration test.

  • Measured 71% RH (expected 75% RH).

  • Compared AmbiMate readings with a commercial humidity meter.

  • Ambient test: 51% RH (AmbiMate) vs. 55% RH (reference meter).

  • Testing performed on a 95°F+, high-humidity day.

Week 7 Progress Continued

Gas Sensor Rewiring

  • Implemented a 10 kΩ / 20 kΩ voltage divider to scale MQ sensor outputs from 5 V to 3.3 V.

  • Integrated the voltage divider with the Teensy 4.0 ADC for safe analog input.

  • Verified voltage scaling and updated the MQ sensor wiring schematic.

  • Prepared the gas sensor interface for full Teensy-based environmental sensing.

Week 8 Agenda

  • Integrate the remaining environmental sensors (PM, NO₂, accelerometer, and MQ gas sensors) into the Teensy 4.0 platform.

  • Validate simultaneous operation of all sensors and resolve remaining I²C communication issues.

  • Refine the enclosure CAD design to improve sensor placement, airflow, and internal component mounting.

  • Finalize wiring layout and update the KiCad schematic for PCB development.
