This week we are going to be writing cinquain poetry about little kiwi’s journey from our drama story.
In drama we have read about the kai-gathering kiwi, the nest-building kiwi, and how they decided to leave their homes, journeying to arrive in their new homes.
We brainstormed (planned) these words about kiwi’s journey:
Have a go at writing a cinquain poem.
Here’s how…
Line 1 - Title
Your poem needs a title - think of a word related to Little Kiwi’s journey to use as the first line in your cinquain.
Line 2 - Describing words
Next, you need two adjectives (describing words) that describe your title.
Line 3 - Action words
Now, you need three action words that end with -ing (-ing participles) that describe the kiwi’s journey
Line 4 - Tell the reader more...
Think of an interesting phrase that tells the reader more about little kiwi’s journey....
Line 5 - A synonym for your title
To finish writing your cinquain, think of one or two words that rename what your poem is about (similar to your title)
