Arts & Human Development

Everyone can make art

(if they try)

Project based class: requires motivation, focus, and applying one’s self to every step of the art making process.

This isn’t a class that someone can memorize their way through. You have to bring something to the table (yourself)!

Procrastinators beware! Quality work takes time, sustained effort, and attention to detail.

This class is NOT:

This class is:

  • An “EASY A”
  • “JUST an elective”
  • A “blow-off class”
  • A “free for all”
  • Less important than a core class
  • Free time
  • Study hall

  • Challenging
  • Rigorous
  • A place to practice and develop professional independent and collaborative behavior
  • Essential for a well rounded education
  • A place of self discovery
  • A chance to explore creatively

STATE STANDARDS:
1. Artistic Perception

2. Creative Expression

3. Historical & Cultural Context

4. Aesthetic Valuing

5. Relationships & Applications

THE RULES:
1. Attitude is everything!

2. Be on time & present (physically & mentally)

3. Behave appropriately & professionally*

4. Art related work in class only (ESP too)

5. Phones stay in the phone holder at all times *except when permitted during breaks

6. No food or drinks in class.

*”Personal” absences are not excused

* See syllabus for more information
