PTA President’s Welcome

​

• Welcome! Productive school year ahead! (shade, compliance, events)
• Amazing group of volunteers! Join us! (Sunshine/Appreciation, Room Parents, NAACP reps, event volunteers needed- sign-ups coming soon!)
• Back-to-School Picnic - Sept 19th 430-630 (KAH, PTA, Food Trucks)
• October will have the Fun Run website launch the week of the 6th, a staff appreciation to stock the lounge with snacks and beverages will be 10/15, and the Halloween/Fall Festival will be 10/31
• November will have our next PTA meeting on ZOOM - 11/4, Fun Run 11/5, and the Book Fair 11/19-11/24
• December will have the ice skating night in the Town Square (date TBD) and a Staff Appreciation Luncheon Holiday Potluck style on 12/11

Who We Are

​

• The NAACP is America’s oldest and largest civil rights organization
• The NAACP PC is a subcommittee of the NAACP Education Committee
• MCPS schools each have

a representative at the

county-level PC

• MCPS schools often have

school-based PCs

What We’ll Do @ BRES

​

• Support equal education for all children
• Increase school engagement with parents and guardians of minority students
• Help BRES achieve its wellness goals and foster a culture of inclusion
• Provide a forum for encouragement, information sharing, positive motivation and advocacy

Fundraising Report

• Our first big fundraiser will be the fall Fun Run, scheduled for November 05, 2025.
• Prizes will be awarded for individual, class, grade, and school-wide goals!
• Keep an eye out for more information soon!
• Spiritwear also supports the BRES PTA activities, as does dues!
