MAP Growth Overview
Introduction to MAP Growth
MAP Growth is a computer adaptive test created by NWEA that kids take two to three times per school year. The results provide teachers with information to help them deliver appropriate content for each student and determine each student’s academic growth over time.
Understanding MAP Growth
Take a moment to review the following resources, specifically:
Accommodations
The MAP assessments provide teachers, students, and parents with data on what students know and need to learn without the use of specific accommodations.

Student Engagement & Rapid Guessing
On most MAP® Growth™ tests, when a student has rapid-guessed on multiple questions, the test will pause, notifying both the student and the proctor that the student is going too quickly. It will pause three times during a student’s test session.

Session Summary Details
The proctor console will feature a download (PDF or data file) that will include summary details from the test session, such as name, status, test duration, RIT score, last question completed (if test status is incomplete), and rapid-guessing information, including whether students reached the 30 percent rapid-guessing threshold.
The PDF or data file MUST be downloaded before the proctor ends the test session.
