His hand is in the shape of a religious blessing. Usually only Jesus posed like this!

He is wearing expensive clothes.
His skin is very pale: he does not go outside much.
What kind of personality do you think he has?
She looks very young and humble.
She is wearing expensive clothes, too.
She is resting her hand on her belly, BUT she is NOT pregnant! At the time, it was sylish to add layers of padding to the front of a dress.
Look at the detail in this expensive candelabra! Was it traced? And why is there only one candle lit?
Look at his signature.
It says in Latin, “Johannes de Eyck fuit hic, 1434.”

In the background is set of prayer beads, and a curved mirror.
Around the edge of the mirror are tiny pictures of the last days of Jesus. The mirror shows the back of the couple, with two others watching.
This is the world’s fluffiest dog! Dogs are a symbol of loyalty.
Both of them have taken their shoes off.
They are holding hands, and he is also raising his right hand.
Behind her is a big comfortable bed.
There is no symbolism here. None at all!
Behind him is a window.
Outside is a tree with oranges on it. There are fruit on the sideboard and on the window ledge.
Trees bearing fruit - hmmm.
