Grant Goal

To provide community-based organizations with funding to support the development or enhancement of trainings, tools, and/or plans; provide organizational development; and/or develop other resources to enhance their capacity as critical partners before, during, and after disasters. Organizations serving Black, Indigenous or People of Color or other vulnerable populations were prioritized.

Funding Available

  • Total available $100,000.

  • Individual awards up to $25,000.

​

  • Performance period of up to 18 months.

​

  • 25 % of funds may be awarded in advance.

Requirements

  • Must be a State of Oregon or Washington registered nonprofit corporation.

  • Based in and serve clients primarily within* the Portland Metropolitan Region.

​

​

* may serve populations/communities outside of the Region, meaning in other adjacent counties, but majority of clients must be located in/residents of the Region.

  • 12 Finalist organizations from pool of 27 applicants who submitted pitches

  • 7 Organizations recommended for awards

​

  • 6 out of 7 Organizations are culturally specific, serving one or more BIPOC or other historically underserved/vulnerable communities (Black/African American, LatinX, Asian/Pacific Islander, youth, migrant workers, low-income families)

​

  • Recommended applicants serve: Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas and Clark counties.
