AQA improvement. (2023.2)

  • Boundaries automatically classified Blocking has been extended to include those created by Edit =>
    • Trim by Surfaces,
    • Trim by Curves.
  • Included only Trim Geometrically with initial AQA release.
  • AQA’s flood fill approach to automatically forming larger quilts will stop at these hard boundaries.

Flashpoint

AVM improvement. (2023.2)

  • It is now possible to define user specified center of the volume extents. Previously it was always relative to the centroid of or extents of the selected surface grids.
  • It’s now possible to consistently use the same far boundary extents among various sets of domains with varying extents.
  • Selecting the option adds an additional XYZ text field for specification of the point directly.
  • The center can also be picked in the Display Window from any typical pickable locations.

2024.1 – Volume Meshing Performance Improvements

Faster, more efficient meshing

Fidelity Pointwise further improved unstructured block initialization in several ways:

    • T-Rex now employs multi-threading to deform the T-Rex front. On average, this improvement results in a 3.5X speed up compared to 2023.2 (and 5X speed up compared to 2022.2) for the T-Rex portion of block initialization for large meshes.
    • Voxel meshing is more robust and up to 2X faster compared to 2023.2 for large cases.
    • Weighted Condition Number smoothing is now much more robust and less sensitive to relaxation factor as compared to 2023.2. New controls were added to prevent smoothing of cells within the T-Rex portion of the mesh.

Reduce the time and resources required to initialize large meshes
