Canvas - Student Access

Google authentication (Google Username & Password) will now be in place for all students and staff, including all including EC-2 students. This applies to both the web version of Canvas as well as the Canvas Student app.

*If prompted to sign into Google, enter district Google credentials

From the launch page student will choose the Login with Google option

There is a change is related to how staff and students s log in to Canvas.

Log in with D203 Google – this (soon to be available) option will allow students and staff to authenticate using their DISTRICT Google account. You will use you district assigned email address and the password associated with that Google account - remember these are not necessarily the same password for each account. The Google Log In option is still being developed and should be available soon.

For students that is <userid>@stu.naperville203.org. For staff it is <userid>@naperville203.org.

Reminders:

Staff need to keep in mind that their password to their Google account is not necessarily the same as the network password.
This only applies to students and staff who have Google accounts set up.
All JH and HS students should have a Google account. Elementary students will not have Google accounts and will need to use method (a) above.
If you are already logged into your district Google account, it will bypass the login. If logged into another Google account or not logged in, it should prompt the user to enter their District Google email and password

Parent Access to Student Canvas Courses:

Parent/Guardian have a new way to link to student(s)
Process now links the parent/guardian to all courses for entire student career in D203
Parents no longer have to do connect to their student(s) courses every year or term for any returning students
