و ساله اهل المكان عن امراته فقال هي اختي لانه خاف ان يقول امراتي لعل اهل المكان يقتلونني من اجل رفقة لانها كانت حسنة المنظر. (تك 26 : 7)
And the men of the place asked about his wife. And he said, "She [is] my sister"; for he was afraid to say, "[She is] my wife," [because he thought,] "lest the men of the place kill me for Rebekah, because she [is] beautiful to behold“. (Gen 26 : 7)

و قال ابيمالك لاسحق اذهب من عندنا لانك صرت اقوى منا جدا. فمضى اسحق من هناك و نزل في وادي جرار و اقام هناك. (تك 26 : 16 – 17)
