The Second Coming of Christ
28 You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I. (John 14:28)
“22 Jesus said to him, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.” (John 21:22)
“11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11)
14 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.” (John 14:1-4)
5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

“I AM = EGO EIMI” (GK)
“I AM WHO I AM” (Ex. 3:14)
“THE WAY”
“I am THE WAY, the truth, and the life.”
Jesus is Our Access to the Father
“Is Jesus, Your Way?”
― John Piper, God Is the Gospel: Meditations on God's Love as the Gift of Himself
“The critical question for our generation—and for every generation— is this: If you could have heaven, with no sickness, and with all the friends you ever had on earth, and all the food you ever liked, and all the leisure activities you ever enjoyed, and all the natural beautiesyou ever saw, all the physical pleasures you ever tasted, and no human conflict or any natural disasters, could you be satisfied withheaven, if Christ were not there? ”
Application
Reflect: Do you want to be “all-in” for Jesus? How does your life match the “all-in” commitment of His disciples?
Reflect: What “ways” in your life do you need to abandon for His ways?
“THE TRUTH”
“I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life.”
Matthew 5:17-18, CSB
17 “Don’t think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass away from the law until all things are accomplished.
2Timothy 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
“12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12)
1) We don’t give room for the Word of God to examine us.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)
2) We don’t do the diligent work of reframing our mind in His truth.
Application
Reflect: What methods of “truths” in your lives have equal standing with Jesus? How is Jesus asking you to see Him as the answer?
Apply: Make a Renewed Commitment to Dive Deeper in His Word.
“THE LIFE”
“I am the way, the truth, and THE LIFE.”
John 20:31
“but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”
LIFE = “ZOE” (GK)
36x in the Gospel of John
Is Jesus our “life”?
Psalm 77:11-15
11 I will remember the works of the Lord;Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.12 I will also meditate on all Your work,And talk of Your deeds.13 Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary;Who is so great a God as our God?14 You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples.15 You have with Your arm redeemed Your people,The sons of Jacob and Joseph.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39)
Application
What parts of your life do you need to surrender to receive Jesus as your life?
Ask Yourself: Is Jesus’ life worth your life? And if it is, today is your day to give it in prayer.
