Divide into pairs or small groups to practice keeping a beat by counting aloud as you clap: 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4.

Once you establish a beat, we will try a different ‘tempo.’

If you are a multilingual student, you can clap while counting in another language.

Create a one minute video performance.

Have one student introduce the performance with facts from your Manhattan travels before the whole class performs as an ensemble.
