Readiness requires planning now:

  • Safety & health guidelines
  • Model development
  • Determine staffing (staff requests for leaves and accomodations)
  • Determine student enrollment (family choices and criteria for in-person spots)
  • Prepare students, staff, and families for in-person learning protocols & remote learning support
  • Facilities & classroom preparation

Our goal is to move toward safe, in-person learning options for all students

We must be ready to expand in-person learning in second semester. �

  • Plan for February 8 start to expanded in-person learning.
  • If public health conditions require a delay, we will delay.

Quarantine

Guidelines

On 12/7, MA Dept of Public Health updated guidelines in alignment with CDC updates

(Would amend Manual A1 & A7)

“If the person does not have a test and does not have symptoms, they may be allowed to leave quarantine on Day 11 (following 10 days of quarantine).”

Social Distance

Guidelines

Based on discussion and support among scientific and medical advisors, second semester planning will assume:

  • Social distancing:
    • Preschool - Grade 5: 3 feet
    • Grades 6 - 12: 6 feet
  • Maintain all other existing safety, health, and facilities protocols covered in the Safety & Facilities Manual, including:
    • Ventilation guidelines
    • PPE use
    • Cleaning and disinfection

Implication of reduced social distancing

3 foot distancing in classrooms would be part of the expansion �of in-person learning and would support:

  • Preschool - Grade 1: Combining currently split in-person JK-1 classrooms
  • Grade 2 - 3: Supporting additional students into existing in-person classrooms
  • Grade 4 - 5: Classroom space to accommodate students at these grade levels
  • Across the school: Staffing can be distributed to support as needed
