Introduction:
The word interjection comes from the Latin words “inter” and “jacere”. ‘Inter’ means “between” and ‘Jacere’ means to “throw”. So, an interjection is a word that you throw in between sentences or thoughts to express a sudden feeling.
Interjection:
“Interjections are words or utlernaces that we use to express emotions.”
Example:
Hurrah! We won the match (Start)
Oh my God! That was unexpected
He told me he was going to, Uh, London or Paris I think (Mid)
TYPES OF INTERJECTION
Now we describe all types of interjection one by one……………………………..
On the basis of parts of speech
Primary interjection: “Primary interjection are the words that can be used as interjection. They can’t function as the part of speech”(noun, verb, adjective etc……) |

Examples:
Wow Oh
Oops Ouch

Aw/ Aww Ew/ Eww
“Oops! I forgot to add salt to the soup”
“Aww, the baby is so cute”
“Wow! That’s amazing performance”
Secondary interjection:
“Secondary interjections are the words that can act as both interjections and other parts of speech(adjective or noun)”
Examples:
“Man, that exam was hard”
“Well, I don’t know how to help you”
“Oh dear, I didn’t expect things to turn out like this”
Wow, that performance was truly impressive!

Types of interjection based on the severity of expression:
Mild Interjection: “A mild interjection is a little word or sound that shows small amount of emotion, like surprise or agreement, without being loud.” Examples:
“Oh! I didn’t know you were coming.” “Indeed, it was a remarkable achievement.” “Hmm, I’m not sure about that.” “Sure, I can help with that.” |

“Those interjections that shows strong expressions.”

“Unbelievable! The magician made the elephant disappear right before our eyes.”

Interjection of greeting:
“These interjections express the emotions of warmth to meet with someone.”

Interjection of Joy:
“These interjections are used to express the sudden, pleasure & happiness.”
Examples:
“Good! we are now going to the next level”

Interjection of Approval:
“These are the words or phrase use to express approval, admiration or support.”
Examples:
“Bravo! John was taken a ticket

“An interjection of surprise is a word or phrase used to express sudden emotion, often shock or astonishment.”

“These interjections are used to get attention to words us.”

“Listen! Stop foffing around”
“Look! I am so, tired, I can’t come anywhere with you”

“These interjections are used for intense sorrow.”

“A volatile interjection is a sudden and intense expression of emotion, like a strong outburst or exclamation.”

“An emotive interjection is a word or phrase used to express strong feelings or emotions, adding emphasis to a statement.”

Cognitive Interjection:
“A cognitive interjection is a word or phrase that expresses thoughts, understanding, or mental reflection in conversation.”
