Our MES social worker will have distributed over $6000 in gift card support by the end of this year which is for essentials and supports 32 families and 42 individual students.

We support 12% of the students in need at MES.

While local agencies partially support the social worker, additional aid from the MES PTA, including $3,400 in gift cards and $500 from local businesses, is crucial.

With your support, she hopes to continue building our inclusive community.

Paige Ronson: I’m running for President as I hope for a deeper connection and involvement in the PTA’s commitment to the school's founding principles of equity and inclusion and the drive for a deeper connection to the school body, both staff and the families served.

I am running because I want to uphold these values for our students and families.

Hi, my name is Jason Quehl, and I'm running for the position of Vice-President of the Magnolia Elementary School (MES) PTA. PARENT EDUCATION

NEURODIVERSITY EDUCATION + SPECIAL EDUCATION + PARENT EDUCATION

Our newly founded PTA board positions for Neurodiversity Education + Special Education, and Parent Education aims to create a supportive and inclusive environment within school. The primary goal of these positions is to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion by providing resources, support, and advocacy for neurodiverse students, special education programs, and parents within our school community.

Neighborhood Connections

We aim to promote collaboration and resource-sharing among neighborhood schools by creating a consortium that fosters connections and inclusivity. By establishing a network of schools working together to support neurodiversity, special education, and parent education initiatives, we can leverage collective knowledge, resources, and expertise to benefit all students in our community.

Through these collaborative efforts, we seek to create a more inclusive and supportive educational environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community that values and celebrates the diversity of all its members.

61 of 66

NEURODIVERSITY & SPECIAL EDUCATION FAMILY KINSHIP GROUP

The MES PTA in collaboration with school leadership endeavor to assist our students and families in navigating the complex world of special education and to narrow our invisible neuro-cultural divide.

Our goal is to foster a safe space for families and students who participate in special education programs and/or are neurodivergent, to connect and establish a community of support.

With this in mind, we have established the Neurodiversity & Special Education Family Kinship Group.

Families can meet other families navigating similar challenges and triumphs and discuss how we can best meet the needs of our community at MES.

Our parent education event, A Guide to Special Education – Virtual Meeting, will take place this Tuesday, May 21st from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

To register for this event or to learn more about or join the Neurodiversity & Special Education Family Kinship Group please contact Amy Read Stanton at areadstanton@magnoliaschoolpta.org.
