Dear Senior Ward Members,

Our Syracuse Bluff Stake membership has always been committed to service in the Church. This letter is to let you know that we as your stake presidency love and appreciate all of your dedicated efforts to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ into the lives of all of God’s children.

This portion of your ward’s webpage is dedicated to educate, inform, and encourage those who wish to find out more about the varied missionary opportunities that we can choose from. The webpage contains all current Senior Service opportunities in our region. There are also some Full-Time Senior Missionary opportunities listed. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Stake Service and Senior Missionary Specialists:

Brother Joe Driggs (801) 725 - 1966 Sister Robin Driggs (801) 510 – 1489

Also check the link to the Senior Missionary website: https://seniormissionary.churchofjesuschrist.org/srsite/?lang=eng

Senior Service Missions are for members who are at least 26 years old. These missionaries serve from home. Applications are filled out by individual members and generally are considered “part time.” Each of the Service missions have a contact number for an “Area Operations” missionary who you should contact if you have questions or are interested in a mission under their direction. If you find a mission that you feel inclined to serve, they will provide you with a “position number” that you then can use on your application. This will expedite the process. You can contact the Area Operations Missionary before you contact your bishop regarding your service.

Senior Full Time Missions are for members who are at least 40 years of age. These applicants serve away from home, and can be filled by married couples, single sisters or single brothers. They can serve from 6 to 24 months. Applicants also need to file a medical form from their medical providers. This process (medical) may take a considerable amount of time. Specific contact information accompanies each panel.

We thank all of our senior members who are serving, have served, or are committed to serve in the future.

Remember this declaration from President Nelson:

“The Lord is hastening His work to gather Israel. That gathering is the most important thing taking place on earth today. Nothing else compares in magnitude, nothing else compares in importance, nothing else compares in majesty”

Russell M. Nelson and Wendy W. Nelson, “Hope of Israel” [worldwide youth devotional, June 3, 2018].
