Lesson Plan for 2.2.4 Properties Game

Lesson Objective:Students synthesize their learning of material properties and their purposes

Engage: Check In and Connect with Students. Movement break (optional)

I Do: Discuss - If I ran out of sponges to clean up my spilled milk, could I use a yellow brick? They look the same (Shape, color, both have holes).

We Do: Play a game of Scientific Hula, Pirate, Strong Person. For this game, we will provide students with a section of review information and then a few multiple choice questions. Students will make the Hula, Pirate or Strong Person action with their body to show which answer they think is correct.

You Do: Students will write a short constructed response about why a stone can not be used to make a sponge.

Assessment: Student writing response completed in you do section.
