Gretel Ehrlich, from the foreword to “The Most Radical Thing You Can Do: The Best Political Essays from Orion Magazine” 2021

“...We submit Earth to machine violence. We submit humans to unequal treatment. Our caste systems are built into banking, city planning, and unsound agricultural policies. We are the serial destroyers of the whole.

No one asked us if this is how we wanted our world to be.

Wendell Berry writes: “We are destroying our country—I mean our country itself, our land. . . This destruction is not necessary. It is not inevitable, except that by our submissiveness we make it so.” We can make changes. We can just go out and do it.

We need to make our minds bigger. Not vanish in darkness.”

Silent Journaling (from Tuesday)

In my personal leadership journey, what is a goal I have for myself in the next week?

What might stand in the way of doing that?

What do I need to do to make sure that this goal happens?

Silent Journaling + Reflection

How are you progressing on this intention? What is working out? What is still in your way?

Pair Share

Find a buddy and ask them about their intention? How is it progressing? How has it changed?

Mingle

How are the scenario(s) developing specific to your track? What feels important for someone in another track to know?
