Mathematics

  • Use a variety of collaborative thinking models to engage in “math talk.”
  • Develop problem solving and critical thinking skills to assist in persevering through any challenge.
  • Apply their knowledge to real world learning.
  • Engage in the learning process by understanding the “why” behind the mathematics.
  • Be assets in their learning experience and resources for their classmates/teachers.

There are two levels of English:

  • English 6 Accelerated

  • Engage with a wide range of fiction and nonfiction texts; digital platforms and tools; and, discussion strategies.
  • Practice and apply a variety of reading strategies and skills, including close reading and text analysis.
  • Learn academic and literary vocabulary in context.
  • Participate in book clubs, Socratic seminars, and other discussion forums.
  • Write for a multitude of purposes, using mentor texts and conferences to guide their process.
