Ideation

The main project for this module is to design a new character from the video game "Genshin Impact." As a player of "Genshin Impact," I'm very familiar with it. I'm a great fan of the character Klee, who often interacts with adults in the game's storyline, and I hope she can have some same-aged friends. I started working from this idea.

I have a great appreciation for traditional Chinese culture, so I decided to design a character based on that. I began by collecting reference materials for the world, creating a fictional story within Liyue to serve as my character's background. Then, I decided to find a meaningful and fitting name for my character. After some research, I chose the name Danqing.

Narrative

Danqing / Dendro / Catalyst

The Valley of Sunken Jade Library has stood for countless years, collecting various books and scrolls from ancient times to the present day. Within this library lies an ancient scroll, painted in ink, depicting a young girl. Over countless cycles of the sun and moon, the scroll absorbed the spiritual essence of the heavens and the earth, giving form to the girl within the painting. She spent many years in the library, loving to read and eager to explore. She read every book in the library, admired every painting, and absorbed countless knowledge and wisdom.

One day, she learned that her idol, Nahida, had awakened from her slumber, and decided to meet her idol in person. So she packed her bags, bid farewell to the Valley of Sunken Jade Library, and embarked on her adventure.

Following the instructions of the "Teyvat Travel Guide," she visited various scenic spots. She cherished every wonderful moment and recorded her experiences. Along her journey, she not only discovered the diversity and beauty of the world but also made many like-minded friends. She shared her stories and knowledge with them and made plans to continue their journey together.
