Need to Exceed 2% Cap

The district is faced with the need to exceed the 2% tax levy cap in order to meet the 2026-27 fiscal goals:

$79,652 decrease in state aid from 25-26
27% increase in health care costs
Continued increases in gas and electric costs
Competitive salary increases for aligned and non-aligned faculty, administrators and staff
Uncertainty of federal grants to supplement state and local funding for salaries and programs
Decline in tuition-based students as school districts develop local autism programs

Even with exceeding the 2% cap, the district reduced general fund expenditures by approximately $1,625,000 from 25-26.
