2022-2023 Theatre SeasonStill searching for the perfect shows!

What are these shows about?

  • Chemical Imbalance: A Jekyll and Hyde Play by Lauren Wilson
    • Chemical Imbalance is the story of the shy Henry Jekyll, who is the unmarried son of a wealthy Victorian family. In his laboratory, he conducts secret experiments in an attempt to isolate the organic component that determines whether we are controlled by the good or the evil inside us. Finding a potion he believes will work, he tries it out on himself to disastrous effect. His evil half is an alter ego named Mr. Hyde who emerges to wreak murder and mayhem.
  • Mary Poppins Jr. by Richard M. Sherman, Robert B. Sherman, and Julian Fellowes
    • The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it.“
  • Cinderella by Oscar Hammerstein II and Douglas Carter Beane

(waiting for official performance license approval)

    • The smart and beautiful young Ella lives in the care of her wicked, self-absorbed stepmother Madame and Madame’s two daughters, Charlotte and Gabrielle. Ella’s only friends in the world are the animals in the woods, “crazy Marie” and the revolutionary student Jean-Michel. Meanwhile in another part of the kingdom, Prince Topher is trying to find himself and learn his place in the kingdom. When his scheming advisor Sebastian suggests throwing a ball so the Prince could meet potential brides, Ella and Topher’s different worlds come together. Expect the unexpected in this clever retelling of the beloved fairytale.
  • An Absolutely True Story (As Told by a Bunch of Lying Liars) by Ian McWethy

(waiting for official performance license approval)

    • Someone is in enormous trouble for breaking the priceless heirloom vase in the Peterson living room. But who? Someone is lying. Well, probably everyone is pretty much lying. Each suspect's account is more outlandish than the last, from warring siblings Fred and Kelly, to their deeply weird friends Barney and Ava, to the family dog (according to the dog whisperer). But the truth? The truth is more slippery... and it may involve more Nutella than you could possibly imagine. Or not. Who knows!

Auditions

  • All Middle School Auditions happen in class
  • TAPPS US One Act Play is in class with invitations to Actor’s Studio and Stagecraft
  • US Musical & Junior Directs are after school because they are open to all students in upper school!
  • Songs I’ll Never Sing auditions are on a Sunday afternoon in March with professional performers in the area!
  • Conflict Calendars are provided for each production and must be signed by the students and their parent/guardian and turned in digitally on Canvas or brought to Mrs. DuPree before the due date.
    • Due dates for the current shows are this Friday 9/2
  • We can’t give everyone the part they want and everyone may not be best for the part they so desperately desire so please let the directors do our thing☺ We really do want the best overall production for everyone!
    • If your student wants to discuss the auditions and get feedback I only ask that we wait at least 5 school days.
