Math and Science Lessons

Guided notes and worksheets were beneficial to my middle schoolers at Black Partridge along with my high schoolers at Joliet. They were able to easily follow along with the lesson and did not get frustrated because they knew what to expect.

Behavior Plans

At Black Partridge, we utilized the CHAMPs expectations. The students would fill out this form daily to track their behavior from class to class. This held students accountable for their work and behaviors. It was also specific to each students IEP goals.

Goal work and motivation

This high school student read at a fifth grade level and did not want to work on practicing sight words because he felt like he was too old for it.

This student wanted to be a rapper in the future. We discussed that in order to be a successful rapper, you need to have a solid foundation in vocabulary and language.

To motivate the student, each day we would practice sight words using single response flash cards and then create music through Soundtrap.

Barbara Mayer

Black Partridge Public Day School

“Bridget researched the IEPs, honed in on information from P/T Conferences, approached and sought out ways to communicate with students in a way that indicated knowledge of approaches far beyond her experience in the field.”

“Her cadence projects a therapeutic atmosphere yet still consistent in behavior plan and management.”
