Save the Penguins 2020

2 of 5

Construction Rules & Guidelines

  1. No building can commence until all three proposals have been authorized.
  2. Follow your approved proposal plans. If you make changes, update your document and have it re-checked by a teacher.
  3. Only 2 members per team at a time at hot glue station. Only 2 groups can be in that area at a time. Have materials ready to be glued, no cutting in that area.
  4. Need something cut with the box cutter or hot wire cutter? Mark it with a sharpie and bring to your teacher.
  5. Check your measurements as you go! Remember about VOLUME (1000cm3), entrance heights, and use the plaster model penguins to check that there is room inside for a penguin family to live comfortably.
  6. Shelters should be clearly labeled with your team #.
  7. Other decorations should wait until your shelter is fully constructed. Don’t get distracted and waste your construction time!
