Background

Issue

1. 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school budgets were under projected for special education services and transportation.

Remedy

• To address this shortfall, operational borrowing was done to support ongoing operations;
• weekly spending reviews are conducted; monthly review of expenditures compared to budgeted dollars are provided to department leaders;
• modified zero based budgeting was utilized to develop the 2025-2026 budget.
