Attendance Policy

Attendance at marching band practices, Friday night performances, and Saturday competitions is so important and is VITAL to our bands success. We MUST commit to being present.

If you are going to leave early, arrive late, or be absent from a practice or performance you MUST fill out the Absence Notification Form at least 24 hours in advance. Please note this is not excusal from a practice or performance. Filling out this form is just notifying us of your plans.

Students that participate in Fall sports must be available for 2 of the 3 rehearsals each week (all 3 if possible). The sooner you talk to your coaches, the more understanding they will be with this commitment. All conflicts must be communicated to Mr. Rowe.

Student Health

Marching band is a very physical activity, much like any sport. It is vital that students come to camp and practice in good shape and are hydrated. Students should drink a LOT of water before camp, all day during camp and on practice/game/competition days. All members will have to pass a physical in order to participate. Physicals are due by the start of band camp (July 13). Please work on this ahead of time and do not wait until the last minute. We would hate for students to miss part of camp because of this.

BAND CAMP!!!

Band Camp will be an AWESOME two weeks of hard work and memories. It is vital that you come prepared to camp. This is NOT the time to learn your music. We would like ALL show music memorized BEFORE camp and your book should be in your flip folders. Bring your drill charts, music and pencil to every practice!

Dress code is very important for band camp. Please have appropriate length shorts, 3-5 WHITE T-Shirts (not a tank top) made out of light material, sneakers, hat and sunglasses. Make sure you don’t mind writing on your white t-shirts ; ) They will not stay white for long. School dress down day rules apply. Tight, short, sleeveless and inappropriate words/images on clothes are NOT allowed. DO NOT WEAR JEANS OR PANTS AT CAMP!!!
