Paper Airplanes
Purpose
The purpose of my experiment is to see what is the best paper airplane design.
Hypothesis
Which paper airplane flies the farthest? If an air glider as big wings, then I think the paper airplane that flies the farthest, will have big wings.
Materials
. 4 sheets of copy paper
. 1 pencil
. 1 measuring tape
Procedure
Step 1: Get 4 sheets of copy paper, 1 pencil, and 1 measuring tape.
Step 2: Make 3 different paper airplane designs.
Step 3: Use the measuring tape to measure how many feet each airplane flew.
Step 4: write down how many feet each airplane flew on a data table.
Step 5: Conclude which airplane flew the farthest
and that will be the best paper airplane design.
Data Tables
Trial #1 Trial #2 Trial #3 Arrowhead: 15ft & 4 inch 13ft & 6 inch 15ft
Blunt Dart: 20ft & 5 inch 14ft 11ft
Hang Glider: 5ft & 5 inch 8ft & 9 inch 8ft
Total: Arrowhead: 43ft & 10 inch
Blunt Dart: 45ft & 5 inch
Hang Glider: 22ft & 2 inch
Conclusion
In conclusion the paper airplane that flies the farthest is the Blunt Dart. The Arrowhead flew a total distance of 43 feet and 10 inches. The Blunt Dart flew a total distance of 45 feet and 5 inches. The Hang Glider flew a total distance of 22 feet and 2 inches. My hypothesis was confirmed. The Blunt Dart was the paper airplane that flew the farthest.
Real World Connection
I wanted to test different kinds of paper airplane designs to see which paper airplane flies the farthest. People wanting to make paper airplanes would want to make the best paper airplane.
