Mrs. Wallace

My name is Taylor Wallace and I will be your math and science teacher. This is my 6th year at Woodvale and my 8th year teaching. I actually came here when I was in elementary school! I graduated from UL and received a Master’s Degree in Gifted Education from Arkansas State.. I am married and have a two year old daughter named Harper! We love spending time with our dog, cats, and fish. I especially love to eat out and spend time with my family and friends. I’m living the dream getting to team teach with my twin sister, and we’re looking forward to sharing the experience with your students this year.

Hello! I am Mrs. Mercado, your 4th grade ELA and Social Studies teacher! We will do so many fun things in class this year! I can’t wait to share all the art and learning we will do together as a Woodvale family! We will discover your gifts and talents. We’ll become leaders and role models for the school! A little about me: I graduated from ULL in December 2015 in Elementary Education. I got my masters in gifted education at Arkansas State University. I am a HUGE Ragin Cajun fan! You can find my husband, my daughter Grace, my dog Tuxedo, and I tailgating for football games at Cajun Field! Working at Woodvale is literally my dream job ever since I was a child. I’m excited to see what we have in store!

Hello! I am Ms. Boudreaux, your 4th grade student teacher who will be in your class until December when I graduate! I am enrolled at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, majoring in Elementary Education. I will graduate in December with my bachelors degree. I am so excited to be a part of the team who will help you flourish in fourth grade!

Welcome Back to School!

We are SO excited to have you and your students in our class this year! There will be lots of information coming your way over the next few weeks, but we are committed to making these transitions as seamless as possible. Help us help you by filling out the student info form on our website as soon as you can: Click here!

Class Fees

  • You will be paying a $25 class fee as part of your school supply list this year. We plan to use this money on items that will benefit our classroom and your students. Such items may include art supplies, science materials, paper products, subscriptions to online websites, snacks, printer ink, developing photos, and any other school supplies that may need to be replenished throughout the year.
  • A $2 ID fee will be collected
  • Woodvale will also be collecting a $10 Chromebook fee.

Class Website

  • When in doubt, please check the class website: www.tinyurl.com/fourthgradegifted. We are going to update it weekly as a newsletter with announcements and important information. The calendar tab will also be used to lay out lessons for the week.

Technology

  • Tests throughout the year will be digital for the most part. Websites like Kahoot, Nearpod, iReady, and Edulastic will become a fixture in our school year. Clever is the “home base” for most of these websites and can be logged in to from home. Students can use Google Classroom to find some assignments and turn in work. We’ll set them up with this the first few days of school. Students should be able to log in from home with their school account and show you anything you’d like to see. When we set up our Google classrooms, we will set up parent notifications and summaries for Google Classroom.
