It is knowledge shared or obtained through study, instruction, investigation or news and you share it through the act of communicating, whether verbally, nonverbally, visually, or through written word. Information has different names, including intelligence, message, data, signal or fact. Knowing what type of information you need or how to share it can help you save time, stay organized and establish best practices for divulging information.

O texto informativo é um texto em que o escritor expõe brevemente um tema, fato ou circunstância ao leitor. Trata-se de uma produção textual objetiva, normalmente em prosa, com linguagem clara e direta.

Tem como objetivo principal transmitir informação sobre algo, estando isento de duplas interpretações. Ao contrário dos textos poéticos ou literários, que utilizam a linguagem conotativa, o texto informativo utiliza linguagem denotativa.

Além de apresentar dados e referências, não há interferência de subjetividade, ou seja, o texto é isento de sentimentos, sensações, apreciações do autor ou opiniões.

O autor dos textos informativos é um transmissor que se preocupa em relatar informações da maneira mais objetiva e verossímil.

No caso das notícias, por exemplo, o escritor está encarregado de transmitir a informação para os receptores leitores da maneira objetiva e alheia a ele.

Escrito em prosa, o texto informativo apresenta dados que o tornam mais credível.
