Mobile Health Team Composition

The Mobile Health Team consists of four members will reach out to every child to facilitate primary screening from 6 weeks to 6 years at Anganwadi Center and also reach out to children in the age group of 6 to 18 years in Schools. Dedicated Mobile Health Teams will screen the children during the entire year.

Instruction for MHT

  • Every RBSK Team has to work as per Micro plan
  • Reporting as per new GOI 4D’ Screening and Service Access format
  • Regular visit of Delivery Point and reporting for the same
  • White Apron, Stethoscope and Job aid must be with team
  • Success Story with Photographs should be send to State
  • It is compulsory to take a RBSK kit while screening
  • Head to toe examination as per RBSK protocol

Important Points for MHT

  • Clear role and responsibility
  • Each team must have definite geographic area
  • Team may have one or more PHC area within Taluka
  • Not more than 120 children screening / Day/Team
  • Screening As per RBSK protocol
  • Minimum 5 minutes / children
  • The schedule of visits of the Block Mobile Teams should be communicated to the school, Anganwadi Centers, ASHAs, relevant authorities etc
  • Mapping of all Govt. health facilities in district/ Corporation,all Private health facilities, tertiary care facilities,physiotherapy and rehabilitation centers and Ensure linkage with these facilities

Roles & Responsibilties: RBSK MO

1.Daily (working Days) visit of school and Anganwadi centres for screening of children as per the action plan.

2. Action plan of assigned area will be prepared with the help of concern THO and publish widely in the field.

3. The Health screening includes Anthropometric measurements, calculating BMI, Screening of 4 “D” ( Defects at Birth, Diseases Deficiency and Development delays including Disabilities)

4. Should provide first aid in normal as well as emergency cases.

5. Spot treatment of children with minor ailments with help of FHW

6. Referral Services

7. Filling the RBSK formats

8. Convergence of RBSK with other existing National Health Programs.

9. Undertake monitoring (planned, periodic and random) of interventions and implementation.

10. Ayurvedic / Homoeopathy Doctor shall attend the meeting at the district level convened by the CDHO and attends the Monthly meeting organized at the Taluka level.

11. Ensure timely submission of reports and returns to RCHO/district authorities through concerned THO in the prescribed format.

12. Ensure proper maintenance of records & registers etc. of medicines, instruments, books, stationeries etc.

13. Monitoring and verification of Online data entry work in RBSK software.

14. Active coordination with Gram Sanjivani Samiti.

15. Documentation of field level innovations, achievement and challenges in implementation of the programme.

16. To plan, implement and monitor “School Health Festival” activities with the help of concern THO.

17. Coordinate with different stake holders for mobilizing support.

18. Follow up with ASHAs & ANMs on progress of assigned jobs.

19. Outreach session of Adolescent Friendly Health Services (AFHS)

20. Visit & Health check-up of new born to six weeks children

21. Health check up of all undernourished / Malnourished children and proper referral

22. Nutrition & Health education session in schools, colleges and other teaching institutes

23. Water sample testing for chlorination

25. Any other work assigned by the Chief District Health Officer (CDHO) and above cadre officers from time to time.

26. During emergency and epidemics Ayurvedic / Homoeopathy Doctor has to perform any duty assigned by the higher authorities.

Roles & Responsibilties: Pharmacist

1. Daily (working Days) visit to school and Anganwadi Centers for screening of children with team as per the action plan. S/He is responsible for dispensing drugs with the help of FHW as per EDL.

2. S/He will be responsible for drug dispensing; maintaining stocks and informs authority about near expiry drugs well in advance.

3. S/He will be responsible for daily online data entry work of RBSK.

4. S/He will be responsible for timely preparation and submission of reports in the prescribed format.

5. Ensure proper maintenance of records & registers etc. of medicines, instruments, books, stationeries etc.

7. Record of any unexpected health events in area and same report to the THO.

Roles & Responsibilties: FHW/ANM

  1. Work as a member of the mobile health team and in coordination with other team members.
  2. Assist the doctors in the team in screening the children for health conditions, conduct anthropometry measurements of children, and help fill out health cards and entry in registers. Assist in the follow-up of the referred children.
  3. History taking during the screening of the Children at Anganwadi and Schools.
  4. Assist in maintaining records/reports of the mobile health team. Provides health information to students, parents, and school authorities.
  5. Perform any other duty assigned by the authority as and when required
  6. Coordination with local ASHA / ANM / Anganwadi workers for children mobilization, screening, & Identification of 4 D's.

  1. THO is responsible for all RBSK related activities in their Taluks

  1. Dedicated Mobile health team works exclusively for child health related activities
  2. CDHO in districts, MOH in corporation and state officers can assign other works to team members ( NO THO/RCHO)

  4. THO should provide One room as Team office and usage of computer with net connection for data entry purpose

Summary

1.Prepare a calendar of visit schedule in consultation with other team members and by involving representatives from WCD and Education departments at the block level

2. Screen children at level of Anganwadi center and at Government & Government aided schools

3. Conduct anthropometry measurement of children, record findings in the screening tool cum referral card & enter observations in register for record and follow up.

4. Maintain inventory of drugs.

5. Maintain quality of referrals and emphasize importance of early screening and timely intervention to the parents/caregiver.

6. Generate monthly reports and update Mobile Health Team registers.

    • Check the position of the child (Arrows1-8). Repeat any steps as necessary.
    • When the child’s position is correct, move the foot piece with your right hand until it is firmly against the child’s heels .
    • Read the measurement to the nearest 0.1 cm and record the measurement
    • Check the recorded measurement on the questionnaire for accuracy and legibility. Instruct the assistant to correct any errors.
