    • Europe is known as the land of “multiple cultures” because European culture is so diverse from country to country
  • Regional differences: North, South, East, West
    • Each area of Europe can be divided into different cultural regions.
  • Cultural Hearth: center of culture or the point where culture begins
    • Europe is a cultural hearth for art. For example, the much of the world’s art was influenced by the Italian Renaissance.
    • Britain is a cultural hearth for classic rock (for example, the Beatles).
