We outfitted a 2018 Ford Cargo Van

into a traveling garden shed and kitchen

We wanted to:

Reach people in rural areas;

Provide hands-on workshops;

Distribute seeds, plants and produce;

Reduce barriers to participation;

Deliver relevant education;

How to grow food and how to prepare it are key to our workshops. Bringing our program to people where they live eases barriers and makes lessons customizable. In 2022 (our first year) we visited X affordable housing communities and X schools.

Workshop use fresh garden produce in simple recipes. A Pop-out kitchen and solar power let us bring them to school and neighborhood gardens. Recipes and procure are provided so people can replicate them at home.
