Example of Science Exploration Assignment

  1. The problem being discussed is the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and how the oil has destroyed the marine life.
  2. Gulf Oil Spill

Your concept maps should go beyond this example. Think about cause/effect, problems/solutions, locations, the effects on plants/animals/water/energy sources, etc.

The goal is to outline and narrow down your specific problem so you can come up with a real and feasible solution.

RSA: END Time: 2:45

1. Log into Google Classroom and complete the Story vs. Explanation activity. Then in groups, review the notes on your narrative and make the necessary edits.

2. If you have not already storyboarded your RSA, please take time to outline your approach to the drawings.

3. Film your drawings on a personal device (or directly into your Google Drive). For each section of your story (each element) record a separate recording.

*Note: This will make it easier to manipulate the video as you match the audio to the separate portions of your video.

4. Once you have each section recorded, you’ll need to upload them into Google Drive (if you haven’t recorded using Google Drive).

5. You’ll need a Mac with iMovie to pull your video together. If one of your group members does not have a Mac, see Tucker.

6. You’ll need to pull all of your videos into iMovie and manipulate the speed, then record your audio to match the images.
