Taking the IRS Certification Tests

When taking the test:

  • Read the online questions to ensure they match the questions in your copy of Form 6744.

  • When entering a dollar value, use only numbers (and the minus sign, if needed), and always round to the nearest whole dollar (enter 1234 not $1,234.32)

Taking the IRS Certification Tests

You must score 80% or better on each of the three tests:

    • Standards of Conduct
    • Intake/Interview & Quality Review
    • “Advanced” (after tax law training)
  1. Read the questions carefully.
  2. Mark your answers in the Form 6744 test booklet for both the tests and retest questions.
  3. The re‐test questions will often help you answer the test questions correctly.
