How Climate Change Affects Polar Bears

• The climate in the Arctic is rising double the amount than the global average
• The sea ice is melting 4% per decade
• Melting sea ice affects how much the Polar Bears can hunt
• Decreases the chances for them to find food
• The Polar Bears have less time to hunt and are forced to go without food longer
• As sea ice diminishes the polar bears become more food stressed, in turn decreases the population on them a

• The seas and oceans could have a big rise over the years it is projected that by 2050 the water levels will rise by 19 inches. Most of the coastal cities could be in danger.

• Solar energy can reduce or eliminate energy bills, solar panels will continue to draw energy even when the weather is cloudy. Indirect, or diffuse, sunlight will still help in powering your home.
• Solar power systems derive clean, pure enrgy from the sun. Solar panels on your home combats greenhouse gas emissions and reduces our collective dependence on fossil fuel. While traditional electricity is derived from fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas, that emits harmful gases when burned.
• Replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy resources, such as solar power, can decrease premature mortality as well as overall health care.
• Fossil fuels require significant amount of water resources which cause pollution. While solar power uses little to no water to operate therefore doesn’t pollute and doesn’t put a strain on the world’s water supply.
