Before you Learn
Self-Check
I can write a repeated addition equation to show the total number of objects arranged in an array.
Nebraska State Standards MA 2.1.2.f Students will use addition to find the total number of objects arranged in an array no larger than five rows and five columns and write an equation to express the total (e.g., 3 + 3 + 3 = 9).

3 - Land on Mars
Students will draw or take photos of arrays around their home (Examples: egg carton, fruit loops, donuts, etc.). They must have at least five examples of different arrays and repeated addition equations describing their arrays.
Then they will create a PicCollage of their arrays with the correct equations to send to their teacher.
2 - Journey through Space
Students will use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to practice drawing arrays with repeated addition number sentences. Use this Array template for practice.
1 - Blast Off!
Students will watch a video on youtube: Arrays for Kids to give students and parents an understanding of arrays.
Then students will watch a video about Arrays and Repeated Addition and practice writing repeated addition equations that match your arrays.
