As many of you may be aware we are experiencing issues with matching up internal components on the 14 CFM pump (exp - LLA4508065 -models ending in 65) between the DAYLEAP, also known as Laplante or High Hope (first vendor) & HONBASE (current vendor) pump. Initially we were told that the parts in the Honbase pumps “should” be the same as those in the Dayleap (Laplante, High Hope) pump, we are finding that that is not the case.
The first pumps were purchased from Dayleap, this pump was used from the start of these models in 2007 through end of 2010. Due to supplier issues we also purchased pumps from Uno Air (started in Feb, 2010), these pumps have a plastic filter housing, it also has a separate pump parts list (205-0077) for internal components as parts are different. It is my understanding that from early 2010 through 4/2011 both the Dayleap & Uno Air pumps were used in production. In 4/11 we started using the HONBASE pump (current vendor). We also were no longer able to purchase the replacement service parts through DAYLEAP therefore ordered these through Honbase. Unfortunately we have found several internal parts that are not the same. With that said, if a customer has a unit with METAL filter canister with a serial # of F,G, H, J or early K should have the DAYLEAP pump (if it has never been replaced), the service parts that we have in stock for the items listed below will not fit their unit.
We have also found that the holes in the vlv plate that we currently have in stock does not match the cylinder holes perfectly on those units mfg in late 2011 (K) & 2012 (L) even though they are pumps from Honbase. The customer can drill the hole out slightly on the vlv plt or they will need to order cylinders to match.
We have found the following differences between the DAYLEAP and HONBASE pumps
The compression fitting that attaches the transfer tube to the pump – no part number exists for this fitting.
The vlv plate asy - If the customer needs a vlv plate 043-0194, they must also order a cylinder (050-0062) if the customer orders cyl, they must also order the vlv plt (043-0194).
The wrist pin is larger in the HONBASE pump, the wrist pin is only sold with the piston asy, 048-0117 (if a piston asy is ordered, the con rods, 047-0094 & 047-0095 must also be replaced and visa-versa). May be more cost effective to order a replacement pump.
The overhaul kit will not work with the Dayleap pump, order new pump.
