To better align professional development with instructional growth, we’ve added T-TESS domains to all PD course information. This update helps teachers easily identify sessions that support their professional goals and evaluation areas. Whether you're looking to strengthen lesson planning, student engagement, or classroom environment, the T-TESS alignment ensures you can make the most of your learning experience.

The Planning domain of T-TESS focuses on developing purposeful, standards-based lessons that are engaging, rigorous, and tailored to student needs. Effective planning ensures clear objectives, meaningful activities, and opportunities for all learners to succeed.

The Instruction domain of T-TESS emphasizes delivering engaging, student-centered lessons that promote critical thinking and mastery of content. Effective instruction includes clear communication, differentiation, and active student participation and engagement.

The Learning Environment domain of T-TESS focuses on creating a positive, supportive, and structured classroom where all students feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn. Effective classroom management and strong teacher-student relationships are key to fostering engagement and success.

The Professional Responsibilities domain of T-TESS highlights a teacher’s commitment to continuous growth, ethical practices, and collaboration. It includes reflecting on instruction, engaging in professional learning, and building relationships with colleagues, students, and families to support student success.

Welcome to Hays CISD and the teaching profession! We are excited that you have chosen to come and work in our school district!

In Hays CISD all new-to-profession teachers who have less than three full years of teaching experience will join our INSPIRE Program and receive a campus mentor.

This is a year long cohort that provides new to profession teachers with support as they transition into the profession. We have found a strong mentoring program that combines campus-based and district-level support to be the most effective method by which Hays CISD can reduce attrition and enhance student achievement by providing to them dedicated, experienced teachers.

The 2026-2027 Professional Development Catalog was a collaborative effort amongst the District Leadership Team, campus principals, and the Curriculum and Instruction Department. Aligned with the Hays CISD Board Goals and District of Innovation plan to honor staff and their professionalism, teachers have choice, flexibility, and options concerning their own professional learning and growth.

  • All Hays CISD staff will be able to register for professional development sessions for all summer PD in Eduphoria Strive beginning April 2.

  • We will be updating the catalog and adding professional development.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the professional learning of our teachers and staff. We look forward to seeing you at trainings!
