Your Role as Consultant
Being a temple and family history consultant does not mean you are an expert genealogist. Instead, you will focus on creating experiences during which individuals can learn something meaningful about their family’s story. These experiences can invite the Holy Ghost to testify of the divine nature of families and the importance of gospel ordinances. The inspiration of the Spirit also encourages a desire to receive the blessings of the holy temple for themselves and their ancestors.

Sending Family Tree invitations can be done through the FamilySearch Planner found in Helper Resources��
Once you are logged into FamilySearch
Click on the Question Mark located on the top right hand corner and a menu will pop up
Click on Helper Resources located on the bottom right hand corner of the menu
Request Tree Access through the Planner�
clicking on Helper Resources, takes you to the planner page, Click on “+ADD SOMEONE”
Request Tree Access through the Planner (can also be done on the phone using the FamilySearch Tree app)
CAN SEND LINK VIA EMAIL, FAMILYSEARCH MESSAGING, OR TEXT
To Revoke Access through Patron’s Account
Instruct Patron to Click on User Name to find settings
Click on PERMISSIONS tab
Click REMOVE ACCESS
To Revoke Access through Consultant’s Account
Load Planner page on FamilySearch
Click on the tree dots next to Patron’s name
Delete from Planner

Minister to the One
To minister is to focus on creating an experience that brings joy to others. We show great kindness when we listen to and care about “the One.” Teach following the example of the Savior, line upon line, precept upon precept. Experiences should fit the individual's knowledge of family history and should be considerate of his or her time. Seek opportunities to show increased love for those you are helping.

Personalize experiences should include an invitation to learn by doing. Temple and family history provides opportunities for individuals to participate in the Plan of Salvation and receive spiritual strength. Our invitations to act are intended to be simple and achievable.
