  • a search engine provided by the AROF sector for browsing available destinations. With the call being centralized this year, it includes all the destinations from all the other Faculties, likely making it a little tiring to look for specific things. Also, it’s still untranslated as of January 2025. For the traditional method:

TO MAKE A GOOD CHOICE...

POINT 1

the university of my choice has to accept students from my level.

What does that mean?

Pagina 13

Level 1: laurea triennale – Bachelor degree

Level 2: laurea magistrale – Master’s degree

Level 3: dottorato di ricerca/scuola di specializzazione – Doctoral degree

POINT 2

which languages do I speak?

16 of 44

In order to make an informed choice the second indicator is, quite obviously, the LINGUISTIC PROFICIENCY:

You must be fluent in whatever language you’re going to be following the host university’s classes in, and it’s not always the native language of the country. Many institutions offer courses taught in English.

The required level must be certified:

How?

- either you possess one of the accepted certifications (see the bando)

- OR you pass the language test at CLA (Centro Linguistico d’Ateneo – Academic Linguistic Center)

they will test your language skills through an exam, dates available between September and February (link https://web.uniroma1.it/cla).

also there’s other options (like attending a course taught entirely in English) but please always refer to the bando.

In the search engine, you may use this dropdown menu to filter the research:

Please consider first and foremost, when using the traditional list, the section that’s dedicated to the Department you belong to

As for “CIVIS” destinations, please always check the “Other information” box as that’s where you may find the Faculty / Department / Major the scholarship you see refers to at the host university

POINT 4

- Please be knowledgeable about the study offer from your institution of choice

- If needed, get in touch with the local Coordinator to verify that all courses you see are available for exchange students to attend

TO MAKE A GOOD CHOICE...

POINT 5

- Do not choose the same destinations everyone else does: Paris, Barcelona, Glasgow etc…

Consider that a lesser university would give you a warmer welcome and pay more attention to you during your studies there.

Smaller cities are often cheaper to live in...

Learning Agreement: study contract, made by the student autonomously and then evaluated by the RAM and approved by the host university’s coordinator

Change Form: changes to the Learning Agreement, agreed on by the student, RAM and host university’s coordinator

Transcript of records: certification of work done, with grades and ECTS gained abroad which will be converted by the RAM into their Italian counterparts. After the mobility has ended, with both what has been certified (Transcript of Records) and what had previously been agreed upon (Learning Agreement) in mind, your Faculty is going to give their approval for the recognition of all activities done while on an Erasmus period, including credits due and grades received.Every host university has an official standard of conversion through which grades contained in your Transcript of Records will be translated into Italian terms, whilegrade conversion table was developed based on guidelines on how to implement the ECTS system.
