Visual Art Design Styles

Representational Art

Representational artwork aims to represent actual objects or subjects from reality.

Abstract Art

Abstraction aims to take subjects from reality but present them in way that is different from the way they are viewed in our realitY

Non-Objective Art

The third type of art is often mistaken for Abstract art although it is entirely different from it. Non-Objective art takes nothing from reality. It is created purely for aesthetic reasons. The intent of Non-objective art is to use the elements and principles of art in a way that results in a visually stimulating work. It is purely that simple.

The Blue Period and Rose Period were early times in Picasso’s art career….

During the Blue Period Picasso used a monochromatic color scheme centering on blue and its tints, shades, and tones. During the Blue period Picasso used subject matter that seemed to fit with the feeling of the blue colors….

Why? Well Picasso was going through a difficult time. He

was living in poor conditions and he was upset about the

death of a close friend. As a result everything felt sad to him.

He showed that wiith his subject and color choices.

During the Rose Period the color scheme and subject matter changed but still used the idea of a monochromatic color scheme…

Picasso is feeling better. He changes the colors to reflect

that.

He also identifies with more happy people because he

Is feeling better. He starts working with people in the circus.
