Types of Absences
What does being chronically absent mean?
It means that you have missed 10% or more of the school year or time enrolled in school, whether your reason for being absent was excused or unexcused.
What does being habitually absent mean?
It means that you have missed 20% or more of the school year or time enrolled in school and 20% or more of your absences are unexcused.
Missing 10% or more of the school year means that:
-You have missed 19 to 20 days of school
- You have missed 4 weeks of classroom instruction and lessons
-You have missed over 100 lessons
