ACT Test

• College readiness test
• Strong scores may help qualify for scholarships
• Some college require standardized test scores for admission, but not any Oregon universities or colleges
• District will pay for all of the seniors to take it October 27^th but the last day to sign up is TODAY, Sept 16^th.

Change in Graduation Requirement

• Class of 2027 must pass a semester of Personal Finance
• All seniors will be enrolled in Personal Finance in the spring of ’27
• We’ve already been teaching this in senior seminar second semester
• Why does this worry me?

Letters from Ms. DeJong

• In November, I will be sending out letters to guardians of students who are failing a required course.
• This means that they will need to take credit recovery or summer school to get required credits for graduation.

Cap and Gown

• Link is on “Senior” portion of webpage. (Senior Grad Orders.) Also on the “Upcoming Senior Events.”
• Or text Teigan Jokumsen at 541-787-1261 “Your High School Cap and Gown Direct Link” and the link will be sent directly to you.
• Everyone orders a blue gown. After semester 1, we calculate who gets an honors diploma. We send that list to Jostens. They change the order to gold.

Graduation Day Info

• Thursday June 3, 7pm, @ Fairgrounds
• Decorated caps ~ Must be approved by admin
• Stoles ~ Must be school issued or cultural (Ask admin)
• Will be given on out on Oral Boards day
• Pick up actual diplomas after the ceremony by doors of event center.
• Diploma will be held if fees aren’t paid.
• Handicapped seating plus ONE (Call Ms. DeJong by Tuesday, June 1st)
• Seating was at FULL capacity last year.

• Usually seniors don’t have to pay for a ticket but everyone else does

Baccalaureate Committee: (Page 5)

• Recommend Sunday before graduation (May 30th)
• Religious ceremony @ church of choice

Senior Breakfast Committee:

• Thursday, June 3, 8am, @ Fairgrounds
• Set up tables and chairs
• Provide breakfast for graduation practice
• Talk with Senior Class officers about what they will contribute from the Senior Class funds.
• Clean Up
• Grad practice attendance is mandatory for all seniors. Anyone not in attendance will not participate in the graduation ceremony.

Decorating Committee:

Graduation ~ 2 pm, Thursday June 3

• I have a “to do list” from Laura Campos that includes pictures. Brooke also has this.
• Pay for someone to clean up?
• You will want to be taking pictures with your grad.

1. HHS Senior Class Account (Through HHS)
1. Money spent from this account must get senior class president approval (Sara Sanchez.)
2. Senior breakfast, graduation decorations, class gift
2. Senior Parent Account (Not through HHS)
• Extra decor at graduation, class party/trip, baccalaureate

Class Party/Trip? Committee:

• We took a poll. 56 seniors responded.
• 27% of seniors would like a party.
• 73% would like a trip.
• That being said, MONEY dictates what you should do. Transportation for trips is expensive.
